My favorite color is green. I love to cook. My favorite foods are pumpkin and squash soup, and pears. I am a vegetarian (often vegan).
I love world music, and I love free/permissive music. I have a growing 10,000+ song collection of free-as-in-freedom world music, all released under permissive Creative Commons or equivalent licenses.
I believe that everyone should have the freedom to remix, alter, and change anything they want or need to, be it computer software, Xbox or TiVo operating systems, music, texts, or anything else. All works released in this site are done so under Creative Commons, GPL or compatable licenses :).
Some of the people and organizations I respect most are Larry Lessig for his legal work around remixing media other than software code and Creative Commons; Richard M Stallman for legitimizing free software and founding GNU and the Free Software Foundation; Jamendo for its free music platform which allows independent artists to release their musical work freely under Copyleft licenses and still make money from it; and others.
This site contains open-source code from projects by Nicolas Fafchamps, Arcsin, and FTM.
Everything available from this site, including the code from the site itself, is made available under permissive licenses such as the GNU GPL or CC-BY-SA. All relevant liscensing info and attribution can be found in the page headers, or in the #comments.
